What you are waiting for

Most work here is one of one. If a piece is listed as available it already exists, sitting cured on a shelf in the studio, and it only needs packing.

Anything marked made to order is poured after you buy it. Resin has its own schedule: a full cure is seven to ten days depending on the thickness of the pour and how cold the studio is, and there is no way to hurry it without trapping stress in the block. Sanding and polishing follow.

Dispatch

• Pieces in stock: posted within three working days.
• Made to order: two to three weeks, occasionally four for a deep pour in winter.
• Commissions: timing is agreed with you before anything is poured.

You get an email with tracking on the day it leaves. If something is going to slip, I tell you before the date rather than after it.

Packing

Everything goes out double-boxed. The piece is wrapped, seated in cut closed-cell foam so no face touches a wall of the box, and that inner box sits inside a second one with a crush margin all round. Heavier work gets a corner-braced carton.

The foam is cut for that piece and it is worth keeping. If you ever return, resell, or move house with the work, that box is the safest thing you can put it in.

Tracking and signature

All parcels are tracked. Anything over $250 goes signed-for, which means someone has to be there. If nobody is, it will sit at a depot rather than on a doorstep, which is what I want for a resin block in a cardboard box.

Outside the country

I ship internationally. Customs duties, import VAT and any handling fee the courier adds are the buyer’s responsibility, not mine, and they are charged at your border rather than at checkout — so they are not part of what you paid me. Rates vary a great deal by country; if you want a rough figure before you buy, ask and I will tell you the declared value and the customs code I use.

I declare goods honestly. I will not mark a sale as a gift or write down the value.

If it arrives broken

Photograph it before you unpack any further — the box, the foam, and the piece. Then read returns.
